Hi friends! I have some catching up to do, don't I? We have had a whirlwind month here. Besides school starting up again-- we have had two groups back to back here to work and visit our mission projects. That is good. But it is busy. And it definitely cuts down on the blog time-- both reading yours and writing in mine. But I am back. Here is what my family has been up to the past couple weeks!
Chloe started ballet classes. She has never taken them before so is old for a beginner. But she loves it and her teacher loves her (and her long lean body!) Her teacher is a Canadian so gives class in English which was a fun surprise for Chloe. She tells me that that since Chloe is older she is learning quite quickly and catching up with her age group that has been taking for a longer time. Good stuff. And since I am not in the pictures unless I take them-- a self-portrait of my new little ballerina and her mama!
Wyatt came up to me on Monday morning before school and asked, "Mom what day is today?" I told him it was Monday. "Oh goodie. Just two more days until Wednesday. And I can go to the dentist! Yeah. I can't wait." Followed by an excited heartfelt giggle.
True story. My little guy just loves going to the dentist. It's not because he has great teeth. He already has had two filings and this past week we had the BIG visit. A pulpectomy --which I think is like a little kids size version of a root canal-- followed by the fitting of a little silver crown. Oh my. Wyatt couldn't contain himself. He started grinning in the chair at the office and still hasn't stopped. He love, love, loves that little crown. I don't know what we'll do when he loses that tooth! The only problem. He wants to show it to everyone. His teachers, his friends, his friends' moms, the lady at McDonald's, the cashier at the grocery store. He is quite excited with his silver tooth! He either pulls his gum all up like this:
Or smiles realllly big like this. (Look closely--the silver tooth is on the right side about half way back but is hard to see in this picture--just don't tell him that!!)
Just cracks me up. Our dentist is really great. She is young and is Mommy to a 2-year old boy --so has that sweet Mommy "I'll take good care of you" vibe going on. Plus she is just good. She uses a numbing gel to numb up his gum before the shot and so he never feels any pain. As is obvious by his enthusiasm. At the end of the visit he can pick a prize-- a balloon animal or a sticker. But after last weeks long visit and the crown he got a special treat. His own pair of latex gloves just like the dentist. Oh my-- you'd think she had handed him a hundred dollars. He was in heaven! So cute. I have never seen someone who loves the dentist like him. So if you come visit me, maybe you should bring your kids and get your dental work done here too!!
The older two boys used some of their Christmas money for some fish and accessories. Don't have a great picture but this should at least give you an idea. They are reading up on each different kind of fish on the internet and are becoming quite the little marine life experts. Fun to see them so excited about something!

Obviously when you hold the camera at arms length and push the button you aren't always sure what you are actually getting. That explains why I cut off half of my sweetie's head! :o) But I still love this picture as it makes me smile. My guy and I will celebrate 15 years of marriage later this month! Yea!! I am blessed.
