Google Searches

OK, for starters, to keep it real---when I typed my title above, I accidentally typed Booble Searches.  Ha ha!!  Not sure what that is, but it sounds funny!!  :-)

Anyway, I loved Jenny's idea of using past Google Searches for her list.

So here are my last 10 Google searches:

1-- Faye Dunaway -- Why?  A friend had recently posted a anecdote about her, and I wanted to look her up and see what she looks like these days.

2-- The Fault in Our Stars -- Why?  My daughter is reading it now, and I wanted to know what she was getting in to.

3-- Annoy en español -- Why?  I was making a poster for my Spanish classroom wall and was looking for another verb to use for annoy (molestar, irritar, etc.)

4-- Erin Andrew's Who was talking about you?-- Why?  Ha!  I just watched the interview with the Seahawks' Sherman and Erin Andrews and I thought it was funny when she said, "Who was talking about you?" So I googled to see if anyone else picked up on that and was writing about it.  :-)

5-- Sitch Fix. -- Why?  Look it up, and you'll see!!  It's your own personal online shopper who sends you five articles of clothing to try!  Jessica (Claire) Norwood was posting about it, so I looked it up!!

6-- Mary Lambert -- Why?  She sings the duet with Mackelmore & Lewis called "Same Love"  I was reading an article about Grammy nominations and didn't know who she was-- so Google to the rescue.

7-- For sale by Owner, Webb City, MO.  --Why?  We live in Webb City.  I just saw a cute house near ours that was FSBO, so I googled just to see if by chance they'd placed an online ad.  (They hadn't) Don't want to move -- just curious.

8-- Write Your Story Francesca Battestelli --Why?  My son was talking about this song, so I googled to listen to it!

9-- SW MO All District Honors Band.  --Why?  My 7th grader auditioned for the All District Honors Band and got FIRST CHAIR tromobone!  Yippee!!  I was just checking to see if there was an online link to the listing so I could toot his horn.  (very punny!!)

10-- Bridges of Madison County  --Why? Was thinking of Meryl Streep and her role in this movie and decided to look up the year it was made.

There it is .. . my last 10 Google Searches... and whatever that might tell you about me!!  :-)

List with Friends, #1

I am joining a wonderful group of friends online this year in a casual, no-stress, fun group project for 2014. Our goal:  document our lives via lists this year. Serious lists, silly lists, grocery lists, hopes and dreams lists, whatever-you-want-to-write-about lists.  I love the idea!

So, what have I done today?  I have wondered what list I should start with.  I have an idea, then think of a better one, then decide on a different one, etc. etc.  So, I decided to start out my year of lists with a "List of lists"  Ha!!  A list of things I think it would be fun to write lists about this year.  (Also a way to help myself out when the middle of the semester hits and I am lacking energy and creative thoughts!!)

So, I will surely add new ideas (especially as I gain inspiration from my other list-making friends).  And I am also sure that many of these may never actually become lists.  But as a good starting place, here is a quick ideas list I came up with in a quick five-minute brainstorming session with myself (if such a thing is possible!).

10. Classroom wish list
11. Pics to take this spring (or summer or fall, etc.)
12. Spring Break packing list
13. Places I’d love to visit
14. People that I owe thank you notes to (no matter when I choose to write this list, I will no doubt have someone to put on it!!)

16. Healthy eating tips to try (or healthy snack ideas)

20. Things I do that embarrass my kids (just to breathe, on some days would suffice!)

36. Gift hint list (even a great husband needs a little help!)

And because I always like pictures in posts, I leave you with a recent pic of me. . .thought you might like to see I am alive and well since I haven't been on this blog in over a year and half (actually not since moving back to the USA.) (Although the actual reason I chose this picture is because I am writing this from my work laptop and only have about 10 personal pictures on it and I am too lazy to go look for a pic on my other computer.  Just keepin' it honest!)   FYI, taking selfies, while a rather rare occurrence, still definite goes on list #20 above from my kids' point of view. ( Why would Mom want to take a selfie?  How embarrassing! I hope no one is watching.)  Oh, the joys of life with teens!!  :-)
