See how pretty it all looked!!

Starting our meal!

E & K with their display boards!! Good work girls!!

Hmmm, Wyatt had an alternative way to use his chopsticks!! :o)
Well, last night we had a very fun evening. Our good friends and team mates here in Costa Rica are homeschooling their two daughters this year. The girls have been working for quite a while on a country study of China. So last night they invited our family over to present their work. And it was obvious they had done a lot of work!! They had turned their whole living/dining area into a Chinese display! They had a typical Chinese snack tray--explaining what each fruit/nut/or color represented. They had decorated with projects they had made-- murals of a Chinese market, Chinese fans, typical symbols on Chinese lanterns. They had made little place cards for each of us with our name in Chinese symbols. Each girl had picked a specific topic and done a written report as well as visual display board and they gave their presentations to us before we ate. So well done, so interesting. Then we had supper. Sitting on pillows on the floor without our shoes of course!! We ate in courses, soup, main dish, tea-- as they had learned was proper. And between each course the girls asked us some trivia questions about China. They even found an internet Chinese music station to play while we ate. Such a fun night. My four little kids loved it. I know we all learned something last night. So proud of my friends. Homeschooling isn't easy. It is a lot of work and sometimes a thankless job. But wow-- they are working and learning and growing together. And that makes me happy to see!!

Looks like a lovely evening, Chrissy :)
How fun. That is a LOT of work, eh? Lucky that you got to benefit from all their hard work.
Wyatt cracks me up - what a cutie!
That is so awesome! What a cool thing to experience!
That looks like such fun...I have really been craving Chinese food, and funnier, (kind of) meeting you.
I pray that someday that happens.
From the pictures, it looks great! We get a Chinese night every day here in Taiwan! A great homeschooling event for your families.
That sounds like so much fun.
